2024 marks 100 years since Hayward Golf Course first opened for play. To celebrate this big milestone, we’re hosting a “100 Years of Golf” 9-Hole scramble and reception on Saturday, June 8th!

This event will unfold in two parts. First, a 9-Hole shotgun scramble will tee-off at 3:30pm, followed by an evening reception:

  • 6:00pm to 7:00pm — Hors d’oeuvres and drinks in the Caddyshak.
  • 7:00pm — Past and Future of HGC: Brief remarks from select Lifetime Passholders and Board members talking about the history of our course and where we’re going from here!

Our goal for the scramble is for it to be a very fun, casual experience! There will be a couple of “special events” involving vintage golf clubs on select holes to add some extra excitement, and we encourage anyone who feels up to the challenge to dress in 1920s golf attire to pay homage to our course’s founding year (obviously not required!). Sign-up as an individual or up to four players.

Entry Fee: $45 per player (includes prizes, a drink ticket for redemption at the reception, and hors d’oeuvres).  We also welcome those who want to join us just for the reception starting at 6pm, and the price for that will be $25 per person (includes a drink ticket and hors d’oeuvres).

It’s a major achievement for a golf course to reach 100 years of operation, and we hope you join us in celebrating this birthday in high style! Sign-ups can can be made with the Pro Shop (715-634-2760).
